Rose Armbrust Griffin, a faculty member of 15 years at Wheaton College, is joined by pianist Hyejin Cho in a program which brings together works by Caroline Shaw and Shawn E. Okpebholo alongside César Franck’s Violin Sonata, heard here through the distinctive and rich voice of the viola.
Griffin’s wide-ranging career includes performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra, as well as collaborations with artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Vadim Gluzman, Marta and Ani Aznavoorian, and Robert Chen. Her musical path also spans diverse stages, from appearances at Lollapalooza with Laufey to performances with Andrea Bocelli and The Eagles. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the viola’s distinctive voice explored with depth, warmth, and expressive character.
