Pianist Hyejin Cho in Recital: The Mendelssohns

Pianist Hyejin Cho presents a recital featuring works by the celebrated Mendelssohn siblings, Fanny and Felix.

This program showcases the lyrical charm and emotional depth of Felix’s Songs without Words and the Scottish Sonata. Fanny’s contributions include the vibrant Das Jahr excerpts and the remarkable Easter Sonata—a masterpiece lost for over 150 years and once mistakenly credited to Felix.

This recital offers a balanced celebration of both siblings’ contributions to the piano repertoire, highlighting their unique and complementary musical voices.

Hyejin Cho enjoys a flourishing performance career as a soloist and chamber musician, with concerts across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Her recent appearances include the Parma Recordings Live Stage, the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series, and the Wheaton College Artist Series. Her research projects were supported by the Missouri Arts Council, the Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship, and the University of Michigan Research Grant.
